Materials* for this image collection were produced and/or compiled by the ROM with the intent that they be readily available for private enjoyment or study. Copyright in the underlying materials belongs to the ROM and other copyright owners, where so noted. Materials cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise exploited without further permission in writing from the ROM or the copyright owner.

Materials may be downloaded for private enjoyment or study only. They must not be modified and must retain any associated copyright or other proprietary notices. Users will acknowledge the source of the downloaded material.

Image Reproduction & Licensing

ROMImages allows for the reproduction of the online images included in its records. Anyone wishing to reproduce these
images†, copyrighted to the ROM, must be a registered user of ROMImages and enter into a licensing agreement with the ROM. Permission for such use is granted on a case-by-case basis, contingent on any specific restrictions associated with image use, and at the sole discretion of the ROM.

Image reproduction costs are based on production and use fees; all fees are for one-time, non-exclusive use, and may be renewed upon request. The ROM reserves the right to apply special fees for some non-commercial and/or commercial uses.

The image collection and the underlying materials are protected by Canada’s Copyright Act, and the regulations thereunder, and by similar laws in other countries.

Third-Party Materials

The ROM has taken all reasonable efforts to ensure that materials, for which copyright belongs to others, are reproduced on ROMImages with the full consent of the copyright owners. The ROM does not warrant that the use of materials displayed in the website will not infringe the rights of third parties. Such works may not be used in any form; they may not be copied or downloaded without prior permission from the third party.

Trade-marks

The trade-marks of third parties may be displayed on ROMImages. Use cannot be made of such trade-marks without the express written permission of the third party.

* The term "materials" includes all or any information, artwork, text, video, audio, animation or image files.
