Description: When the Duke of Connaught, Governor General of Canada, officially opened the ROM in 1914, he was given a presentation address hand-lettered and illuminated by A.H. Howard, a Toronto artist. The address covers nine pages of vellum handsomely bound in inlaid and tooled leather. Although the volume was presented to the Duke as a gift, it has been reacquired by the Museum and is now preserved in the Museum archives. |
